F. H. Schaefer, 62, of 2323 Hobson Ave., Davenport, salesman for the Thomsen Tobacco Co. the last 30 years, and well known in business circles here, died suddenly of a heart attack in his home at 11:30 p.m Wednesday.

A native of Scott county, Mrs. Schaefer was born June 12, 1890, received his education in the county rural schools, and had attended Brown's Business college here and the Universities of Washington and Iowa. He married Amelia Wohler in Davenport, Sept. 1, 1914. She died March 4, 1941. He married Andrea Hummelgard in St. Louis, Mo., Aug. 8, 1946.

Active in fraternal organizations here for many years, Mr. Schaefer was affiliated with Elks lodge, the Loyal Order of Moose and the PTA.

His survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Boyd Gilmour, Davenport, three grandchildren; a half-brother, A.T. Adams, Davenport, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Beula Gislason, Seattle, and Mrs. Myrtle Stevens, El Paso, Tex.

The body was removed to Runge mortuary where services will be held in the chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. F.G. Codd, in conjunction with members of Elks lodge, will officiate. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. The Daily Times, Davenport, Iowa, 3 Sep 1953, Thursday
