Barbara Anne Brown was born March 28, 1930, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Oris Albert and Angelina Elizabeth (McMannama) Brown. As a young girl, Barbara attended school in Imperial, Nebraska, and graduated from Chase County High School in 1948.
On May 13, 1949, Barbara married Hubert C. Brown at the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The couple first settled in Enders, Nebraska, where Barbara began teaching school. She also taught music (accordion and piano) lessons for many years. In 1956 Barbara began working as a postal clerk at Enders and in 1979 she became the Enders Postmaster until she retired in 1989. Barbara and Hubert relocated to Imperial in 1976 and moved into her childhood home.
Barbara enjoyed music, sewing, antique collecting, dancing, traveling and working on puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Barbara passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, at her home in Imperial. She was 90 years of age.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hubert; and her half sister Marilyn J. (Moody) Brown.
