DROWNED IN THE CANAL.
Charles S. Boyer, a young man employed as a driver on a canal boat on the Delaware and Hudson canal, was drowned in the canal at Birdnest's rock, near Huguenot, Saturday evening. He attempted to dive for a coat that had fallen into the canal and had sunk. In some manner he was injured and did not come to the surface, and before help arrived he was drowned, Early Sunday morning James Babcock and George Skellinger of this village brought the body to the surface by means of fishing hooks and lines.
