Roger Merle Atkerson was born December 5, 1941 in Carthage, Texas to Amber Lee and Hazel Christine Adkison Atkerson. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1960. Mr. Atkerson married Betty Britton and together they celebrated almost 60 years of marriage. Roger retired from Texas Utilities and was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church. He enjoyed drinking coffee every morning with his friends, deer hunting, supporting the Carthage Bulldogs, and spending time with his family. Mr. Atkerson was preceded in death by his parents.
