Robert F. “Bob” Alexander entered into Eternal Rest on December 11, 2020 at the age of 79 years, after a 6-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley Conlee Alexander for 54 years.
Devoted father of Michael Alexander and Julie Alexander Geary. Father-in-law of Gene Geary.
Loving “Paw-Paw” to Nicholas Geary, Haley Geary and Kayla Alexander.
Special “Uncle Bob” to Ashley Ditta (Brian) and Zoey Ditta. Caring brother-in-law to Brenda Conlee and Darlene Muir (Mike).
Robert was born on December 3, 1941 in Rayville, LA to Farrar M. Alexander and Ruth French Alexander.
Brother of Frances Hammond and the late Katherine Bates, Farrar Alexander, Jr., Martha Iseman, Charles Alexander, Marilyn Bailey and Carolyn Hill. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a Purchasing Agent for Avondale Shipyards for 40 years. He was a parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Harvey and served as Head Usher for a number of years. He was a loving and devoted family man as well as an avid Saints football fan.
Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
