Allene M. Brooks, nee Thompson, died peacefully in her home in Maryland Heights, MO on November 29, 2020 at the age of 95 years old.
Per her request, a memorial service will be held for family at Zion Lutheran Church in Spring of 2021. Family and friends will be notified when a date is decided.
Born May 29, 1925 in Shannon County, MO, Allene was oldest and last surviving sibling of 4 children: Conilee Begeman, Wanda Thompson, and Jim Thompson. She served as an example of strength and resilience to her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, and nephews. Late in life, Allene reflected on and was proud of the independence she demonstrated throughout her life. As a student, Allene was the first woman at her high school to take a mechanical drawing class. She later opened her own dress shop on Delmar before moving on to work as a Bookkeeper at Citicorp.
Allene was a loving mother to her two children: Judy St. Clair, who preceded her in death, and Allen Thomas Brooks (Cathy Brooks). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Megan Burian (Greg), Ryan Brooks (Jennifer), Kelly Brooks, and Nathan St. Clair. And her great grandchild, Liam Burian. In death, she will rejoin two of her grandchildren, Bob St. Clair and Katie Brooks, and her fiancé, Ervin Schaedler.
