Janelle Hanna

Janelle, a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, passed away in her home on Sunday December 6, 2020.

Working in education for over 30 years, she touched and influenced many by her love of children and teaching. She also coached volleyball, basketball and baseball.

While growing up in an orphanage with her sisters at St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge, LA, she made many lifelong friends. Later she met her husband and had a wonderful marriage to the man she loved. After his passing, she attended college and earned her bachelor's degree in education.

She was a breast cancer survivor.
Janelle will be remembered for always putting others first, and their needs above hers.

Janelle was preceded in death by her husband Col. Judson W. Hanna Sr.; sons Judson "Jay" Jr. and Daniel "Scott;" two brothers, Alec Colligan and John Colligan; and three sisters, Anna Doucette, Mary "Fran" Feller, and Kathalen Mitchell.

She is survived by her sons Mitchel Wayne Hanna of Baton Rouge, LA and Jason Patrick Hanna of New Roads, LA.

The family would like to thank David Seils and Timothy Carroll for their help in her caregiving over the past few years.

A private family service is being held in La Place, LA.
