She was born in Webster City, Iowa, on February 22, 1925 to Harry and Pearl Christensen. Ardys was the oldest of the siblings in her close-knit family on the farm in Iowa.

Ardys had a passion for learning, she went to teaching college and was a teacher in a one room schoolhouse in Iowa in her early 20's, in later years she worked in the insurance and banking business in Evergreen. She was an avid reader of history and a lifelong learner. Ardys adored her mountain homes, settling in Indian Hills in the early 1960's with her husband Arlie. Ardys had multitudes of hobbies through the years; square dancing, gardening, sewing, weaving, pottery collection, stained glass and painting were just a few of her activities she enjoyed.

Ardys' true love in life was her family, she stayed home to raise her twin sons, Erik and Kirk ensuring they had a wonderful childhood filled with love and wisdom. When the grandchildren came, Ardys was there to help with caring, loving and spoiling them. She and Arlie never missed any school events and were a constant support.

Ardys is survived by her husband, sons, grandchildren and great grandson.
