Britton Kennington (or Cannington) was the son of John Kennington Jr. and Nancy Watson. He was born in South Carolina, but his family moved to Wilkinson County, GA by 1825 when his father is found in the 1830 Census there.
He married Sarah Ryle in Wilkinson County in 1834, and he is found in the 1840 Census there. By the 1850 Census, the family had moved to Twiggs County, GA. He died around 1852 and his widow remarried Patrick Donally (various spellings) about 1853. His younger children are found in the Donally household in 1860.
His burial site is not known. Perhaps he was buried on the family farm.
