Ricky grew up and lived most of his life in Hobart. He attended Hobart High School and graduated in 1979. He was a musician, was in a band, and wrote music. Music has always been a part of his life. He worked for Hobart Public Schools as well as construction through his career. Ricky married Josie Scarberry, the love of his life, on November 29th, 1982. The family resided in Hobart where they enjoyed his cooking, music, and many stories. He enjoyed cooking for the family and many of their friends, watching westerns, listening to music, and helping everyone he could. Everyone knew Rick for his big heart and helping hands.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hobart, was in the Men’s Club there, as well as the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Josie Scarberry, sons Brandon Scarberry and fiancée Sara Reneau, Bobby Scarberry and wife Angelissa Texidor, daughter Bethany Ogden and husband David. Mother-in-law Jaunita Garza. Brother Donnie Scarberry and wife Naomi. Sisters Nancy Thompson and Carolyn Harris. Ricky leaves a legacy of six grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ron Scarberry and Donnie Felter and his father-in-law Albino Garza.
Services for Ricky are scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hobart with interment following at the Resurrection of Life Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma.
Rosary Services are Friday, November 27, 2020, at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home located at 1400 West Main Street, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma
