Ann Boese
(Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend)
Ann was born on May 18th, 1923 in Saskatchewan, Canada to David and Annie Helmer. She was the only girl born into a family of 10 children. Her family moved from Canada to the United States when she was just a young girl. As a teenager, Ann was blessed to find true love. She met Ezra Boese while attending an ice cream social. They dated for a short time and then were married inside a parsonage in Marion, Ks as teenagers. Their beautiful family would begin just 9 months after their marriage! They had 3 children, Larry, Robert and Vickie. During May of 1969, Ann and her family went through terrible hardship as they learned of their son, Bob's (Robert) death in the Vietnam War. Ann continued to be the glue for the family. She worked at Jackson's Clothing Store in downtown Marion, Ks for many years until the business closed its doors. Then, she went across the street to ALCO where she would continue to work for 40 years in the public. Everyone in Marion knew her! Even after her husband became disabled due to a stroke, she cared for him 14 years while still working. Her love never wavered! With each day we were blessed to have her here on Earth, she taught us how to love without end, live like there is no tomorrow, and how to be there for family. She became an Angel on July 1, 2015. Her legacy lives on through her 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren!
