Carl M. Koessl Jr., 71, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 26, 1935, to the late Carl and Viola (Jirtle) Koessl Sr. in Kenosha. Carl was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Carl was a truck driver for Kenosha Wholesale Grocery for 20 years. He also worked at Guardian Container in Elkhorn, Wis., for several years. Carl will be remembered for being an avid baseball fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. He loved taking walks along Lake Michigan and just being around the lake. He also enjoyed all the new friends he had made at St. Joseph's Villa. Carl is survived by his two brothers, Robert (Lynette) of Canton, Mich., and Wayne (Patricia) of Pleasant Prairie; and his two sisters; Vivian Applegate of Kenosha and Joan R. Stachon of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell, and one sister, Lorraine Struss. Funeral services for Carl were held at the Bruch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the St. Joseph's Villa. Burial will take place on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. James Cemetery.
