Philip W. Hall, born in Grundy county, Missouri, January 13, 1850; died at Fairplay, Colorado, January 28, 1907, aged 57 years and 15 days. Cause of death, heart failure.

It is always a sad duty to record a death, but sadder still to place on record the death of one beloved and respected who is called to the other world in the prime of life.

Mr. Hall, whose demise occurred unexpectedly, had gone on the morning of the day of his death, in apparent good health, with his son to Weston's ranch to procure some wood.

Feeling suddenly ill, Mr. Hall asked his son to return to Fairplay with him at once. Soon after their arrival it was determined by his physician that Mr. Hall's stay on earth was short, and soon after the spark of life went out.

Mr. Hall came to Fairplay ten years ago in search of health, and worked mostly in the timber. He was a man of sterling quality, an exemplary husband and father, and made friends on all sides among citizens and associates. His loss is mourned not only by his worthy widow, but by the people generally.

Mr. Hall leaves, besides his widow, two daughters-- Mrs. Effie M. Spencer of Grundy county, Missouri, and Mrs. Florence D. Lamar of Whitewater, Kansas-- and a son, G. Bert Hall of Fairplay.

Mrs. Hall feels her loss keenly, the couple having lived a happy and pleasant life throughout.

The funeral was yesterday, the obsequies being performed by the Rev. Johnson at the Methodist church, and interment at the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
