Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Player. Born in Morocco, Indiana, he was a right fielder for the Washington Senators (1915 to 1933) and the Cleveland Indians (1934). He finished his 20 season career with a .322 batting average, 2,987 hits, 34 homeruns, 1078 runs batted in and six 200-hit seasons. He holds the Washington Senators franchise records for hits, runs, doubles and triples. In 1963, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He died of cancer at the age of 84.
