James E. Todd passed away peacefully late Friday evening, November 27, 2020 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born September 28, 1945 to Herman and Cornelia Todd. James was raised in Iowa Park and this was where he spent most of his life. At an early age, he was given the nickname Hopper. This moniker followed him throughout his time in this world. To those who knew him, he was and will always be known as Hopper.

James graduated from Iowa Park High School. With a new diploma in hand, he soon joined the U.S. Navy. This was the start of many adventures along his life journey. Upon completion of his service to his country, James had the opportunity to live a highly individualistic life, traveling throughout the United States. His occupations often reflected his rugged and adventurous personality: mining and oilfield-related work, just to name a few. He eventually made his way back to Iowa Park and worked for many years as an auto-body repairman, often dabbling in auction sales on the side. Throughout his school years, James participated in boxing. James pursued many interests throughout his lifetime, but the sport remained a passion of his. He often spent his spare time watching the classic bouts and kept up with the new stars of the “sweet science.”

James left this world with his beloved Sherlyn Underwood standing by his bedside and was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Don E. Todd. He is survived by many loving family members and friends who will miss him immensely.

Such thanks to all friends and family for their love and compassion to James during his time of need. There will be a small service at the Highland Cemetery pavilion in Iowa Park on Wednesday, December 2 at 2:00. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to be made to the Friendly Door Senior Citizens Center and the Hospice of Wichita Falls.
