Walter was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was united in marriage to Uvonne Hopkins on May 14, 1966. To this union three children were born. Walter was a retired logger. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed being in the woods hunting and fishing. He had a green thumb for gardening, loved his dog Red, chickens, playing cards, traveling, helping people, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife of fifty-two years; brothers: Roger and Nathaniel Bollinger, sisters: Marie Thornburg, Faye Truelove, Teresa Shaw.
Walter is survived by children: Henry D. Hopkins and wife Tammie of Calvert City, KY, Amy Knight of Greenville, Wayne Bollinger and wife Debbie of Success, AR; grandchildren: Sam Hopkins, Logan Knight, Chad Browning, Alicia Browning, Trinity Bollinger, Sirene Bollinger, Aleena Bollinger; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; brother: Phillip Bollinger and wife Clara Jean of Mt. Vernon; sisters: Margarette Bollinger of Clubb, and Waite Barber and husband Tom of Patterson.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Crossroads Cemetery at Greenville,
