Captain Adam Quentin Abadie Sr. passed away on 11/18/2020 after battling many illnesses.

He is survived by his wife Candice Ragan Abadie, his three sons: Adam Q. Abadie Jr., James Abadie, and Dantaye Walker, his father and mentor Robert E. Abadie Jr, his mother Mary Eiskina, his father-in-law James “Pete” Ragan (the late Jennifer Ragan), his sister Patricia Mike (the late John Mike), his brothers: Robert Abadie III, Roland Abadie (Carla), and Patrick Abadie, his godfather Clifton Abadie ( the late Catherine Abadie), his godmother Betty Champagne, his aunts JoAnn Smith (Earl) and Edwina Lynch (Thomas “Butch” Abadie), many nieces and nephews that he loved as his own and a host of cousins.

Adam was a captain of towing vessels on the Mississippi River for over 20 years. His fellow captains were family and the water was his passion.

He loved “camp life,” dates with his mother-in-law, and was a high ranked pool player for the APA. What Adam loved most were the times spent with friends he loved dearly, playing cards, boiling seafood, smoking brisket, and partying as hard as he worked.

He had a heart of gold and an infectious smile. He was the life of the party and would never want a sad funeral, so a remembrance of his short but full throttle life will be scheduled at a later date. Everyone will be invited, as he never met a stranger. His wife and/or brother by another mother Davis Creppel will inform all when a date is set.
