Born September 10, 1932 in Anderson County to the late William and Mae Perry Caldwell, he was a graduate of Belton High School. He was retired from Southern Burglar Alarm. Dan was an avid hunter, and loved the outdoors.
He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his faithful companion, Joyce Dean of Belton; his daughter Mitzi Merritt and husband Brian of Powdersville; his grandchildren, Randy Crowe, Asden Kinder and husband David, Chris Merritt and wife Mandy, and Blake Merritt and wife Catherine; 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rene Crowe, a sister, Blanche Motes, and 2 brothers, Edward “Ed” Caldwell and William “Pete” Caldwell.
