Simeon was the oldest resident of West Paris when he died at the age of 92 at the home of his grandson, Simeon A. Farr. He was the son of Solomon and Alvira (Cole) Farr. He had 2 brothers, Charles Henry and Frank Willard. His father died in battle during the Civil War when Simeon was 11 years old, and just before he turned 13, his mother married Ransom Cole. He was the half brother of Mary A., Elmer K., Alphonso, Daniel R., Stanton R., Martha Ellen (Nellie) , and Lucretia. (His mother had a total of 12 children.)

Simeon married Louisa Martin on December 29, 1871 in Gorham, NH. They were the parents of: Minnie, Annie, Horatio, Alvira, Willard, and Estella Belle.

After the death of Louisa, he married Martha (Pike) Goodwin on February 29, 1892. After Martha's death, Simeon married Rhoda (Swan) Cole Tilliston on July 8, 1916.

He was active in farming all of his life.

He was survived by 2 sons, Horatio A. of Portland, and Willard of West Paris; 2 daughters, Mrs. Minnie Moulton of Harrison, and Mrs. (Elvira) Etta Chesley of West Paris; 2 half sisters, Mrs. Alvira Martin, Greenwood and Mrs. Mary Bennett, Locke Mills; 3 half brothers, Donald, Elmer, and Stanton Cole, all of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. and 1 great great grandchild.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Annie Swan.
