John Taylor Parks, born in Preble county Ohio Jun 3, 1822. He married Romancy Jane Miller at Hoopeston, Vermilion Co. IL. in 1865. She died Jan. 29, 1938 at Watseka,. There were six children in this marriage, William L. Parks Jan. 15, 1868, Paxton, Ford Co. IL., Etta V. Parks 1870, IL., Silas Parks 1872, IL., James Archibald Parks Nov. 10, 1875, Watseka, Iroquois Co. IL., Asa Parks Mar. 13, 1879,Watseka, Mary Elizabeth Parks Jun. 30, 1890, Watseka. Thay also raised a child Jesse Ray Hoover after his mother died in 1888, Jesse took the Parks name he was never adopted. John T. Parks was a Civil War Veteran. In The Union Army his enlistment date was May 14, 1864, with company B 134th Illinois infantry. He mustered out Oct. 25, 1864.
