James “Jim” E. Evans, age 84 of Lexington, beloved husband to Lois Evans, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born November 9, 1936 in Elliott County, KY, a son of the late Curtis and Rena Fields Evans. A U.S. Army Veteran, Jim was a retired manager for Southern Salads and had also worked for LFUCG for ten years. Jim was an avid hunter and reader and also enjoyed farming. Besides his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Tracy G. Evans of Lexington; a son, Anthony Dale Evans of Lexington; and a sister, Audrey Phyllis Evans of Grays Lake, IL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, A.W. Pennington, and Clifton M. Pennington; and two sisters, Eldred Craine, and Mildred Pennington. A private graveside service with Military Funeral Honors will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with burial to follow. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284. Kerr Brother Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road is in care of arrangements.
