Sir Austin Cooper, better known as COOPER, was one of the greatest dogs I have ever owned. He was very obedient, yet just a little sassy. He was better protection than a personal body guard and he is sadly missed and very much loved.

He was the family pet and adored. He shared his life with Marigrace and David Swierzynski and Marigrace's son, Kevin Clonts, from 1994 until the early spring of 2000, when the family felt it best to let him reside at the place he loved the most. He spent his last months at 4 paws boarding kennel in Blair, Wisconsin under the loving care of Terry Tupper. She ran a very nice kennel and she kept Cooper up in her house with her, her fiancee, and their 5 golden retrievers and 1 german sheppard. She adopted Cooper and gave him the freedom to run within the confinements of her fenced in yard with access to the house when ever he wanted. He was an Alpha male and was just huge. He never fathered any pups as he was neutered as a puppy. He was AKC registered and he was a show off as well. He had his own bed in our bed room and would lay on the bed, with his head on the pillow and allow us to cover him up and he would sleep like that all night. He would "argue" with my teenage son over who would sit where on the couch and he was just a blast to have around. He was comical and loving and our best friend. We was more human than some people I know. He was just great and we think of him often and miss him so much. We remember him making snow angels in the snow.

He developed problem with his hips and couldn't even get up or down so the Monday after Memorial Day of 2000, we went to visit him and give him his favorite treat (hershey's kisses)(he could hear that bag rattle 50 yards away!)(with his problems chocolate would not hurt him or help him, so we gave it to him on his final day). He drug himself to his feet to come great us and spent a few minutes saying good byes and then once we left the vet came in an put him to sleep so he could finally rest and be out of pain. He is buried up on the hill, in the wooded area, at 4 paws boarding kennel, next to several other pets of Terry's.

Since Cooper died, Terry herself died in a bizarre car fire. She was found on a dirt road, in her car, burned to death. It seems that she backed up into a ditch and her exhaust caught the tall dry grass on fire and for some reason she was unable to get out. She perished. Her fiancee continues to live on the land and in the home they built together around 1999. She was an advocate for all animals and she too is deeply missed. She was great and all the animals loved her.
