Ray Allen Benoit, Sr.

Jennings: Ray was born in Little Chenier, LA on January 23, 1933 to Dorselia Benoit and Olymph Mallett Benoit. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on November 18, 2020. Ray served our Country honorably in the Navy, after which he went on to work for DOTD for 33 years. He loved being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Ray also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. His greatest joy came from the time he was able to spend with his family and friends; as well as all of the memories they made together. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Ray’s memories are is his beloved wife of 64 years, Flora R. Benoit of Jennings, LA; his son, Jerrod “Bubba” Benoit of Andrus Cove, LA; his two daughters, Brenda B. LaFosse of Hathaway, LA, Sherry L. Benoit of Jennings, LA; his five grandchildren, Ashley Thibodeaux, Justin LaVergne, Christopher LaFosse, Hayley Benoit, Lacey Lepretre; his ten great grandchildren; as well as his nieces, Kristi B. Stauffer, Kim Benoit.

Ray is now reunited with those that preceded him in death, his parents, Dorselia & Olymph Benoit; his daughter, Vicki Benoit; his sons, Ray Allen “Butch” Benoit, Charley Benoit; his brother, Vernon Benoit.

Funeral Services for Ray Allen Benoit, Sr., 87 of Jennings, LA will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 9:45AM with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery. Those chosen to honor him as his pallbearers will be Jerrod Benoit, Sr., Jerrod Benoit, II, Justin LaVergne, Kaden Newman, David Peeler, Steven LaFosse.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA beginning on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:00 PM and continuing until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 8:00 AM until the time of his Service at 9:45 AM.
