Raymond Harris was the sixth of seven children born to Floyd and Pearl Harris on September 2, 1944 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Preston High School. After graduation, he serviced four years in the US Army, working on missiles. He also received an Associate Degree in Electronics from Tulsa Tech.

He later met Wilma (Griffin) Harris and had four children; Derrick Harris, Dana (Harris) Young, Tanya Harris, and Amber Harris.

During his career, he worked at the Tinker Air Force Base for seven years and he also worked for Southwestern Powers Administration until retirement. Raymond worked hard to provide for his family. He was also a loving father and grandfather. Raymond enjoyed fishing, remote control vehicles, and watching old western movies. He was a huge fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister Thelma Draper Tulsa, OK; his children Derrick Harris Okmulgee County; Dana Young (Brian) Desoto, TX; Tanya Harris Tulsa, OK; Amber Harris Tulsa, OK; Grandchildren: Hydiea Harris, Alashia Harris, Elijah Harris, Tatitiona Harris, Amon Brown, Brianna Young, Sheldon Stephenson, Lamont Crowley, Houston Harris, Kaleigh Reynolds, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father Floyd Harris and his mother Pearl Harris; his brothers Floyd Harris Jr., Thurman Harris, Leon Harris, Kermitt Harris, and Steven Harris; one sister Doris Hawkins.

A family conducted memorial service will be held 1PM Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson, OK. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #20 of Fort Gibson, OK.

The family of Raymond Harris has entrusted his care and cremation to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson, OK.
