Dona Ilene Sims Edwards, 90, of Pana passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in Pana Community Hospital. She was born February 23, 1930 in Pana, daughter of the late Thomas McCoy & Rosa May (Barbee) Dilley. Dona married Harold Sims and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1987. She married Ruben Edwards on September 22, 2001 in Pana. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.
Dona had worked for the bobby pin factory, Mallory's, Carlinville Nursing Home and did house cleaning. She was a member of the Pana United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, singing & yodeling. She earned the name "knothead" after helping make many knot blankets.
Dona is survived by her children: Don (Annie) Sims, Pana, IL; Steve (Debra) Sims, Pana, IL; Patricia (Butch) Sinclair, Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren: Dawn (Tom) Henderson, Shawn (Scott) Collins, April (Kyle) Myers, David (Sarah) Sims, Becky (Mike) Childers, Adam (Jessica) Sinclair, Andrew (Heather) Sinclair, Aubrey (Ben) Teeters; great grandchildren: Ethan, Erin, Eli, Brittney, Preston, Samantha, Taylor, Alivia, Derick, Emily, Abbey, Noah, Reid, Addysen, Kamnden, Bryceten, Morgan, Edwin, Buchannon; and great-great grandchildren: Maebrie & Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney in infancy and siblings: Edith Wright, Mary Beck Opal Boyer, Clarence Dilley, Lloyd Dilley, Samuel Dilley, Orville Dilley, Gerald Dilley.
Per Dona's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and private services will be held at a later date.
