Lillian Clara Pittman, born April 23, 1917 in San Antonio, TX, passed away at age 86 on Friday, June 6, 2003. She was the daughter of the late James Cambell Schuman and Anna Barbara Adam Schuman. She married W. Alvin Pittman, June 7, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Alvin Pittman; sister, Marie Schuman Dauwe; son, James (Jimmy) Pittman and grandson, John D. Hughes. She is survived by her brother, Henry Schuman; sons, William (Butch) Pittman, Edgar (Eddie) Pittman; daughters, Barbara Meller, Martha Pittman, Lillian Pittman; daughters-in-law, Yvonne Pittman, Shirley Pittman; son-in-law, Rueben Meller; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

After retiring as a seamstress from Gants Sewing Factory in 1979, she became an Avon Representative until 1994 in the Kingsborough-Bellaire area. As an Avon representative she was a member of the Presidents club for many years. She devoted her life to her family, who will always cherish and love her.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Danny McCombs Sr., Robert McCombs, David Pittman, granddaughter, Terri McCombs and great-grandsons, Danny McCombs Jr., and Jeremy Gleitz.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 8, 2003 at 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. A Mass will be held Monday, June 9, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, with Interment to follow at Mission Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family asked that donations be made to Vitas Hospice or the Alzheimer Association. Arrangements made by Mission Park Funeral Chapel South.
