Edward Farnsworth, 81, of Frishkorn Drive, Wellsville, a retired railroad worker, died this morning at 3:40 at City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Washington County, Ohio, May 6 1905, a son of the late James Farnsworth and Lucy Brown Farnsworth.
Mr. Brown was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad be fore retiring in 1947, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
His wife Clora Freeman Farnsworth, died, Feb. 11, 1956.
He is survived by five sons, Jake Farnsworth of Marietta , Ohio, Edward Farnsworth of Dover, Ohio, and Harold Farnsworth, Albert "Jim" Farnsworth and Kenneth Farnsworth of Wellsville; five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Marion) Long and Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Wooten of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Larry (Awetta) Metgar, Mrs. Charles (Rose) Higgins and Mrs. Lucy Spiva of Wellsville; 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The Rev. Gaylord Cox is to conduct services Friday at 11 a.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday fom 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
