Kelly Theron Andersen

Kelly Theron Andersen passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and loved ones, on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born on September 24, 1956 to Robert Kirk and Donna Whiteley Andersen. He was the youngest of four children. He was a lifelong resident of Nephi, where he grew up working in the family businesses. He graduated from Juab High School in 1974. After great determination and much persistence, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Koye Mcpherson on March 31, 1978. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti LDS temple on May 2, 1980. Kelly and Koye became constant companions as they worked together to build their businesses and raise their family. With an incredible eye for detail, Kelly was a quality craftsman who paid meticulous attention to every detail on his work projects. He attended technical college for drafting which left him with the desire to have his own business. Kelly worked at Ashgrove cement plant in the maintenance department where he developed many long-lasting friendships that he cherished. After 18 years, Kelly left Ashgrove to follow his life-long dream of owning his own construction business. With this new venture came the opportunity to work side by side with his boys. Not only was he able to teach them the trade, but life lessons as well. Kelly’s daughters were the apple of his eye or as he would say his Darlin’s. He instilled in them a great work ethic, to never be afraid to get their hands dirty or try anything once. His best days were spent working along-side his family.
Kelly spent the last four years employed at Central Valley Medical Center where he continued to use and share his many talents. His work ethic never went unnoticed, even up until his last days.
Kelly served in many capacities in his community and church. He was a Nephi City Councilman, coached little league baseball and wrestling. He also served as 7th ward clerk, stake high council, and together with Koye in the young singles branch presidency and as primary teachers.
Kelly enjoyed listening to rock and roll music, hunting and spending time with his boys on the mountain, was a vintage car enthusiast and most of all Kelly loved spending time with his family. Kelly never missed out on the opportunity to support his children. The real fun began when he became a grandpa, his grandchildren adore him.
As a final tribute to their Dad, his boys put the skills they learned to use by building the casket he will be laid to rest in.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Koye Andersen, his children Kendra (Shane) Jackson, Kaleb Andersen, Kolby (Camrie) Andersen, Kolyer (Corrie) Andersen, and Kelsi (Rorry) Hiskey, 15 grandchildren, sister Tonya (Mike) Cowan, Nephi, brothers Bobby (Teresa) Andersen, St. George, and Brent (Kathy) Andersen, St. George.
Preceded in death by: his parents, father in-law Seth McPherson, and nephew Trevor Cowan.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, November 19th, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi, UT. Due to Covid-19 please wear a mask and follow all state and local social distancing guidelines.
