Franklin James Armstrong of Clarendon, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, September 28, 2007, in West Memphis, Arkansas at 74 years of age.

He was born August 18, 1933, to James Henry and Willie May Wade Armstrong in Armorel, Arkansas.

Franklin worked in construction from the age of fourteen. He deeply loved his family, taking very seriously his responsibility to provide for them. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting pool, and a good cigar. He also loved his dogs, playing with them and cooking chicken for them. He was a very supportive person, always there, with a kind word for everyone.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billy Armstrong, and one sister, Martha Carroll.

Survivors include: Wife Debra Armstrong of the home in Clarendon; daughters Becky Burgin of Dewitt, AR; Georgette Adams and husband Shelby of St. Charles, AR; Darlene Manus of Rodgers, AR; and Karen Mills of Virginia; sons David "Dicky" Atkinson of St. Charles; Aaron Armstrong of Clarendon; Steve Manus of Searcy, AR; Dale Armstrong of Van Buren, AR; fourteen grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in Marianna, AR, with burial in Marianna Memorial Park.
