Funeral services for Mary Ellen Kimbrell, 89, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 1, 2007, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Allen and Tim Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at May Cemetery.
She died at a local nursing home.
A lifetime resident, she was a member of Belle Plain Baptist Church, and worked for Brownwood Independent School District. She was married to Loyes Nine Kimbrell.
She was a wonderful caregiver to the entire family. She loved to bake and quilt, to share her chair with her two boys, her dogs, Dusty and Little Bit, and her cat, Miss Kitty.
Survivors include daughter, Margaret Wood and husband Cotton of Brownwood; son, Earl Kimbrell and wife Karen of Brownwood; and daughter, Wanda Johnson of Brownwood; grandchildren, Robbie Woods and wife Barbara, Laura Stoddard and husband Tom, Mary Morrison, David Woods, Dena Hamlett and husband Les, Melanie Kellar and husband Lynn, and Labrisha Wilder and husband Will; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Dr. Sue Jones and husband Don and Nancy Byler and husband Roger.
She is preceded in death by her husband Loyes Nine Kimbrell; a daughter and son in law, Carolyn Smith and husband Nyal; granddaughter, Christina Richardson; great-grandson, Micah Richardson; son-in-law, Larry Woods; brothers, Altus (Tink), Lester, Joe, Cye, and Roy Buford; and sisters, Mamie D. Charmasson, and Marie McClelland.
