Lois Barnes Pratt Hunt (1837-1885) was a Mormon Pioneer in California, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Lois Barnes Pratt Hunt was born on March 6, 1837, in Ripley, New York, to parents Addison and Louisa Barnes Pratt. She was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by cutting a hole through the ice of the Mississippi River near Nauvoo, Illinois.

When her father was sent to the Pacific Islands a second time to serve a mission, the whole family went with him, and Lois was assigned the job of teaching English to the children of the Tahitian Islands. She grew to love the people she taught, and learned their language most fluently.

After they returned to America, the family settled in San Bernardino, California, where she met John Hunt. She married John Hunt on July 4, 1857, in San Bernardino, California, and together they had eight children.

John and Lois moved their family to Beaver and Joseph City, Utah, Savaia Valley, New Mexico, and Snowflake, Arizona. Hunt died on March 9, 1885, in Snowflake, Arizona.

The actual burial for Lois Barnes Pratt Hunt is not where the marker with John Hunt's three wives is. The grave is about 55 feet east and south (near a small bush). The original tombstone is made of sandstone and is still readable, but a bronze plaque with the original wording is attached to the back.
