Obituary
Elston D. Hunter, a well known resident of Florida, NY, died at his home in that village on Wednesday, March 21.

He was a native of Chester, NY and was aged 57 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

On December 17, 1891, he married Cinda Brown, of Warwick, and their married life has been spent in Florida, NY. There he engaged as an onion raiser and dealer, and has been very successful in his work. He had always been actively interested in public affairs, and had been a member of Highland Engine & Hose Co., for a time a trustee of S. S. Seward Institute, and prominent in the general affairs of the community, until ill health had compelled him to give up active life. He had been a Republican in politics, and active as a worker, serving for some years as an inspector of election, and also as a committee member, but not aspiring to public office.

Surviving are the widow, two sons Prof. Hazen Hunter, of Orange, NJ and Dr. Alonzo D. Hunter, of Endicott, NY; his mother, Mrs. Samantha E. Hunter, of Middletown, NY; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Garrison, of Middletown; Mrs. Hortense Rose, of Charleston, SD, Mrs. Frank C. Hock, of Guthrie, OK, two brothers, John and William, both of Chester, NY.

The funeral was held at the home at 1:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon, Rev. E.C. Mason officiating. A large delegation was present in uniform from Highland Engine & Hose Co., of which he was at one time the foreman. The burial was at Chester.
