CAWKWELL Albert Hollaway Company Sergt. Major 7091 - 1st West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) enlisted 11th June 1903. Serving as a Professional Soldier and a Reservist; Mobilized on 4th August 1914 when War Began. He went to France as a Company Sergeant Major, in September 1914 & served at Mons and also took part in May other Engagements. He was wounded in action, on the Somme 1918. He died of Wounds received in action , on 10th October 1918, aged 34 years, at No.58 Casualty Clearing Station in France ; He did his duty bravely and fell fighting for freedom and right and Lies resting in soil made sacred by the blood of British Heroes. Buried Tincourt New British Cemetery VII. E. 20. Tincourt-Boucly, Departement de la Somme, Picardie, France also Commemorated in the Hedon Road Cemetery Crematorium Hull; Born Hull 10/12/1883. Son of Albert Cawkwell and Agnes Holloway. Married at St Andrew’s Church, Hull, 5th July 1913 to Florence Illingworth late re-emmaried to Greenfield, of 10 Berkeley Terrace Buckingham Street Holderness Road Hull. He left Mother & Father in Law Arthur. Brothers Alfred and Arthur, Sisters, Ada, Agnes and Amy. ;His Death was reported in The Hull Daily Mail 18th October 1918, with his Photograph. and in 16th December 1917 & 10th October 1919. His details are also recorded in the De Ruvigny Roll of Honour, Volume 4
