Brenda Braddy Ray, 71, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jerry Riggs officiating. Mrs. Ray will be laid to rest at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Marc Lindsey, Drayton Lindsey, Tyler Ray, Joshua Ray, Brian Ray, Brett Ray, Chett Ray and Jim Ray will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 20, 1946 in Turner County, Mrs. Ray was the daughter of the late Wilson and Mae Braddy. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Myers. She was retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education and a member of Tifton Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Carl Julian Ray of Tifton; two sons, Mitchell Ray and wife, Linda of Hahira and Stephan Ray and wife, Allison of Albany; one daughter, Diane Ray Lindsey and husband, Marc of Tifton; her grandchildren, Tyler Ray, Joshua Ray, Drayton Lindsey, Lauren Lindsey, Wilson Ray, Julianna Ray and Taylor Williams; a sister, Evelyn Wynn; and many nieces and nephews.
