Bill passed away peacefully and in the company of his family on Palm Sunday, April 9, 2017. He was born on March 23, 1925 in Oakland, California, the only child of Roland and Florence Boucher. He was the grandson of Dr. Charles Mason, a founder & leading citizen of the city of San Leandro. Bill grew up in San Leandro and Oakland and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Seattle where he met his future wife, and where he began a 35-year career in the Maritime Transportation industry. His first job was as Manager of the Port of Seattle, from which he moved to Seaport Shipping Company where he was Executive Vice President. In 1982 Bill formed TMX Shipping and served as President of TMX until his retirement in 1987. For many years Bill was an active member of the Transportation Club and the Yukon Club. He was an avid Bridge player, life-long golfer, and with his wife, Billie, enjoyed traveling the world.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Billie (Parks) Boucher, who went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2012. Bill and Billie are survived by sons Doug andJohn (Mindy), daughter Lisa (Scott); and by their grandchildren: Jason and Megan Boucher and Danny and Ryan Larson. Bill will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members.
