E.S. Bennion, 82, Dies — President of S.L. Firm
  HOLLADAY -- Earl Slade Bennion, 82, 4817 Holladay Blvd., president of Bennion Thermo - Rite Fireplace Screen Co., died Saturday of natural causes in a Salt Lake hospital.
  Mr. Bennion was a graduate of Utah State Agricultural College (now Utah State University) where he was president of the senior class and a member of the football team.
  As a young man, Mr. Bennion planted one of Utah's largest apple orchards in Taylorsville.
  In 1910 he married Nellie Hayball in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  He was an active member of the Holladay Eighteenth LDS Ward as a high priest, and had formerly served in the MIA superintendency in the Pleasant Green LDS Ward in Magna.
  A son of Alfred and Eliza Slade Bennion, he was born Jan. 20, 1886 in Salt Lake City.
  He is survived by his widow; three sons and three daughters, Dale H. Bennion, Alfred H. Bennion, both of Salt Lake City; Earl H. Bennion, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Rolland (Ruth) Johnson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Herman C. (Dorothy) Smith, La Crescenta, Calif.; and Mrs. Kent J. (Beverly) McDonald), Heber City. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Holladay Eighteenth LDS Ward Chapel, 4650 Naniloa Dr. (2970 East). Friends may call at 4760 S. State Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Holladay Memorial Park.
