Shown on 1830 federal census in Greene Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.

Moved by wagon from Franklin County, Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1834 with brother Wendel and their families. In 1835, sister Elizabeth and her husband David Shoemaker followed. Initially rented a farm on Bear Creek, now a part of Dayton. In 1839, moved to Harris Creek a short distance east of Bradford to the "Hoover farm."

In 1844, he bought two farms near Painter Creek, Darke County. He paid $250 to buy one from David Croft on 16 Feb, 1844. The other farm was known as the "Spidel 40." He moved to the Croft farm on the west side of the road in 1849.

Shown on 1850 federal census as farmer in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio, but died that same year. Abraham farmed the Croft farm and cared for Nancy until he married in 1857.

Son Jacob moved to the Spidel farm in 1854, and Nancy lived with them from 1857 until she passed away in 1860.

"George Minnich, a native of Pennsylvania, in 1833, immigrated to this State and settled in Montgomery Co., Ohio; a few years later he removed to this county, but at his death, which occurred when he was about 60 years of age, he was living in Franklin Township, Darke Co. He celebrated his marriage in Pennsylvania with Miss Nancy Shoemaker; she survived her husband a few years, her death occurring about eighteen years ago."
