James Henry Kennimer, a resident of Spur for the past 4 years, died Friday of bronchial and cardiac asthma at his home. Mr. Kennimer had had asthma for the past 20 years and had been confined to bed for the past few months.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 Sat. at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. John R. Boone and Howard H. Hollowell officiating.
Kennimer was born in Wood County, Texas on Dec. 28, 1892 to M/M Scott Kennimer. In 1915 he affiliated with the Baptist Church. On June 11, 1914 he and Willie Yancy were married in Wood County.
While in Spur, the deceased pursued his occupation as a carpenter, until his health prohibited him from working any longer.
Kennimer is survived by two sons, LeRoy, Spur and Durward, U.S. Army in Germany; 3 daughters Mrs. Lucille Holder, Lubbock; Edith O'Guinn, Spur; and Mrs. Frances Fae Albin, Lubbock; two brothers, L.N. and Frank; one sister, Mrs. Freda Harris, and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Skagg Moudy, J.W. Henry, W.M. Hazel, Leonard Culbert, Horace Hyatt and Owen Smith.
