ALTA (ELLIS) WILLIS
April 7, 1931 ~ November 4, 2020 (age 89)

Alta Florene Willis, of Eagletown, passed away November 4, 2020 at her home. Alta was born April 7, 1931 in Mangum, OK, to Alton and Flora Emma (Jackson) Ellis.

Alta was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in DeQueen, AR and had lived in McCurtain County most of her adult life. She loved her church and going to church singings. She could always be found at the local nursing homes singing with the residents.

She loved her family and friends. Alta enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her younger days. She was a great cook and loved having her family around. Alta had worked at the Eagletown Nutrition Center for many years.

Alta married the love of her life Buck Willis in Hope, AR on December 30, 1947. They enjoyed helping with the local fish fry benefits for the Eagletown Cemetery.

Alta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buck; her parents, Alton and Florene Ellis; brother, Jack Ellis; sister, Sue Stuedlefield; her mother and father-in-law, Dick and Grace Willis; and other in-laws, Max, Billy, Bo, and Ally.

Alta is survived by her son Alvin Willis, and wife, Billie Carol, of Cheyenne, WY; daughter, Linda Nowrroz, and husband, Tony, of Arlington, TX;

Grandchildren, Kristi Willis, Andy and Erica Willis, Susan Swanson, and Bijon and Sherry Nowroozi; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many friends, including special friends, Gerda Maschek, Rhonda Crawford, Judy Farley, and Iva Jean.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Wednesday, 10AM, at the Eagletown Cemetery, with Pastor Ray Reynolds officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6-8, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to your favorite charity.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Wednesday, at 10AM, at the Eagletown Cemetery, Eagletown, OK, with Pastor Ray Reynolds officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6-8PM, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.

*So sorry to hear of Ms. Alta's passing! I had been friends with Mr. Buck & Ms Alta for many years! Was on my way to see Ms. Alta to tell her of a mutual friend, Donald Cunningham from TN., passing away, Wed. 4th, when I learned she had also passed on the same day, so sad to loose two friends in one day! My thoughts & prayers for all the family.
