Velta Altmeyer Westhause, 70, of Spring Branch, Texas, went to be with our Lord on July 29, 2010.
She was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on Sept. 28, 1939 to Carl James McKusker and Johnnie Mae Garsee McKusker. She married Thomas Edward Altmeyer on April 3, 1959. They enjoyed 41 years together until his passing in 2000. She retired from Guadalupe Valley Telephone Cooperative after 20 years of employment, and a year later married her dear friend, Erwin C. Westhause, on August 31, 2002. Velta was known for her generosity and community spirit as she spent many years volunteering with the Bulverde-Spring Branch EMS and playing the organ for Chapel In The Cove.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed music, reading, and spending time with her family. Velta was a very special lady who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
