Kenneth Lewis Marchant, 93, passed away on October 28, 2020 in Lovell, Wyoming.

He was born July 20, 1927 to Eva Leone Lewis and Charles Wright Marchant in Cowley, Wyoming. He married his beloved bride, Gaye Alexander, December 24, 1948; they were sealed for time and for all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple June 17, 1966.

Kenneth was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed many callings. He and his wife were Home-Teaching companions for many years and served together at the Billings, Montana Temple as ordinance workers. He also served in the Elder’s Quorum Presidency, as Ward Clerk, as Executive Secretary, as 1st Counselor in the Bishopric, as a High Councilman, and diligently served as Finance Clerk under 3 Bishops for a total of 14 years.

Kenneth worked hard throughout his life. As a boy he labored on local farms when he wasn’t attending school. When he was a young man, he joined the Merchant Marines, attended boot camp on Catalina Island, and worked up and down the coast from California to Canada. He spent most of his career as a mason and he travelled for work much of the time. His meticulous nature and work ethic made him successful in his craft and there are many buildings throughout the state still standing today that showcase his talent.

When he retired, he enjoyed spending most of his time with his beautiful wife whom he adored. They enjoyed traveling together; they went to Mexico and visited Gaye’s sister in Hawaii several times.

He had a sharp mind, quick wit, and had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, gardening, reloading ammo, and being involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Simply put, Kenneth was cool. He had the best stereo system and the latest technology and gadgets. He loved motorcycles, guns, fishing, and was thrilled to involve his family in his interests. He was deeply loved by those whom were blessed to be around him. He made them feel loved, appreciated, and accepted. People who knew him were inspired by his example of Christ-like love and good-natured kindness.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Roma Walker; brother, Richard Marchant; children, Cindy (Gary) Flom, Susan (Kurt) Wilkinson, Dennis Marchant, Robert (Lisa) Marchant, Lisa (Kim) Wilson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Gaye Alexander Marchant; his parents; many brothers and sisters; children, Kenneth Marchant Jr. and Jolene Marchant; grandsons, Stuart Wilson and Richard Walker Jr.

Funeral Services were held at 1 pm Tuesday, October 3, 2020 in Cowley at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment was in the Cowley cemetery.
