A funeral service for John H. Atkinson, 50, a retired federal government employe at Quantico who died Saturday at his home at New Post, was to be held today at 2 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Harold O. Bartlett, pastor of Round Oak Baptist Church, was to officiate.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Noel Atkinson; a son, Marvin P. Atkinson, of King George; four brothers, Charles Bernard and Herman Atkinson, of Fredericksburg, and Vallee Atkinson , of Wisconsin; and two sisters, Mrs. Wilber Purks and Mrs. Allen James, both of Fredericksburg.
Pallbearers were to be Grady Atkinson, Carl Coogle, Floyd Williams, Eugene Covington, Randolph Mills and Frank Mills.
