Rev. Jimmy I. Wilborn, age 85, of Trion, GA, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center.

Rev. Wilborn was born May 17, 1935, in Fort Payne, AL, son of the late Alverine D. and Ada Westbrooks Wilborn. He was a member and former Pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Menlo and had also pastored at Spring Creek Baptist Church for 25 years. Rev. Wilborn was also a retired carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Wilborn; daughter-in-law, Marianne Wilborn; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Chandler Wilborn; a daughter, Jan (Calvin) Andrews; grandsons, Lee Tanner, Jay Wilborn, and Chase Wilborn; great-granddaughters, Jenna Jackson and Kensley Tanner; special nieces, Vickie Dawson, Tammy Owings; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2020, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Johnson and Rev. Scott Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lee Tanner, Jay Wilborn, Jack Owings, Chase Wilborn, Michael Humphrey, and Matt Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Palmer, Mark “Perk” Schrader, and the Men’s Sunday School Class of Faith Baptist Church.

Rev. Wilborn will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday.

The Wilborn family along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
