I am assuming he was buried here. He was thought to have been poisoned by one of their black servants just after the close of the Civil War according to Welcome Hamon's family history written up in the newspaper. William ate a berry pie and then died. It was thought that the servant was put up to it by friends of the family. She and some more of the servants ran away after it happened.
