David Erwin Davis, 70, rode through those pearly gates on January 20, 2015, from Grants Pass, Oregon.

"Dave" was born in Sonora, to the late Harold and Grace (Berg) Davis on July 18, 1944. Dave was a graduate of Sonoma Valley High School class of 1961.

He entered the construction trade , specializing in carpentry. He was superintendent for large commercial projects in Hawaii and also built his own home there. When an injury cut short his career he retired to Rogue River, Oregon where he always enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He had a passion for Harleys and rode with the best. He had charisma and intelligence that attracted like a magnet. Whether he was teaching a technique, or telling a story, it seemed everyone would stop to hear. He loved to laugh with family and friends. Grandpa's bean salad will surely be missed for every time he made it the grandkids would ask "Grandpa what kind of beans?" Through their laughter he would always answer "Why human beans of course!"

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Grace Davis and his wife, Susen Davis and sister, Sharron Davis.

He is survived by his brother who was also his best friend, Dan Davis and his wife, Corlee, of Grants Pass, Oregon. His three sons, Shane Davis and wife, Ronalee, of Sonoma, Nick Davis, of Hawaii, Kelly Davis, of Australia; grandchildren, Joshua Geddes, Zachary Geddes and Lindsey Davis, and one great-granddaughter, Kenzie. He will also be remembered by his nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
