Lois Johnson passed away on April 2, 1998, at her home.
Her services were at Union Memorial Church, Milford, on April 6, 1998. The Rev. John Rozendaal officiated at the service.
Music was by Gerry Sternberg, organist and vocalists were Beve Austin and Wendell Williams.
Pallbearers were Jay Johnson, Bradley Hyde, Bill Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Todd Huebner, Armand Dornbusch and Mic Murphy.
Honorary bearers were Al Glover, Glen Hemphill, Ray Kaiser, Kirby Range and Tom Williams.
Interment was at Milford Cemetery, Milford.
Lois Marie Bates Johnson was born on July 26, 1917 to Sheldon and Susan Edna (Yager) Bates in Dickinson County. She attended and graduated from Excelsior High School.
On October 3,1937 she was united in marriage to William J. Johnson at Spencer. To this union, three children were born; Karen, Bruce and Jerry,
Lois lived all of her married life on the family farm west of Milford in the Okoboji Township.
Lois was a member of Union Memorial Church in Milford, The Order of Eastern Star, Farm Bureau, the Milford Area Potluck Supper Group for 51 years, and many other card and social groups. She was also a volunteer at
Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karen Hyde and her husband, Wayne; sons, Bruce Johnson and his wife, Pat, and Jerry Johnson and his wife, Betty; grandchildren, Beth and Mic Murphy, Maria and Todd Heubner, Jay Johnson.Kristi and Armand Dornbusch, Bradley and Rhonda Hyde, Bill and Susan Johnson, Jeff Johnson, and Amy Johnson; sister, Grace Northey; brother Wilbur Bates; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; brothers:
Lester, Edwin, Kenneth, and Russell; and sisters, Florence and Irene.
