Betty Aileen Burt Davidson Mason died on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, in Rexburg, Idaho. After 19 1/2 years, she and her sweetheart are together again.
Betty was born on Sept. 9, 1924, to William Walter and Ethal Verna Hackworth Burt. She was always proud of her heritage.
She married her sweetheart, Leland Royal Davidson, on Nov. 21, 1944, in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away on May 22, 1984. They had eight children.
Betty also found friendship and companionship when she married a lifelong friend, Glenn Mason, in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 21, 1994. He passed away on Dec. 13, 1999.
Betty was a happy person to be around. Everything was an adventure and a party. Her favorite things were huckleberrying, chocolate covered peanuts, and Anne of Green Gables. Her treasure is her family.
She always had a testimony of the gospel and loved to share it. She served two missions - one in Albuquerque, N.M., and one to the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. She also served in the Relief Society, Young Womens and Primary.
She served as a 4H leader for 30 years teaching young people to sew, cook, model, and many other skills.
She is survived by her children, Amy and Jon Jensen of Richmond, Utah, Celia and Doug Van Alfen of American Fork, Utah, and Grant and Susan Davidson of Parker, Idaho, Betty Lee and Curtis Dick of Billings, Mont., Siri and Terrell Pinnock of Rexburg, Dan and Karlene Davidson of Bountiful, Utah, LeAnne and Joe Larsen of Las Vegas; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, including one grandson on a mission in Oklahoma.
In heaven she joins her husband, son, parents and many other loved ones.
Betty made many friends in Cache Valley while she was living here with her daughter.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Logan Regional Hospital and Dr. Strong for their kindness to our mom.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Parker Ward Church in Parker, Idaho.
