Mrs. Annie Ruth Birge Williams of Hartford, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. She was 82 years old. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in Hartford City Cemetery in Hartford with Rev. Jerry Green officiating and Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford at 12:00 noon.

Mrs. Williams was born March 3, 1938, to Zephie Nyer and Claudie Thomas Birge. She retired from the Geneva County School System after 35 years as a bus driver.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Zelphie Nyer and Claudie Thomas Birge; husband, Amos Williams, Jr.; three brothers, Buford Birge, Hubert Birge, and Mildon Birge; and one sister, Loyce Green.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael Williams, Augusta, Georgia and Dennis (Saundra) Williams, Tallahassee, Florida; four granddaughters, Kimberly (Allen) Dodson, Aprille’ (Lucas) Alward, Emily Williams, Aimee’ Williams; two great-granddaughters, Sophia Dodson and Evelynn Alward; two brothers, James Robert Birge and Ray Neal Birge.
