Gary served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy on the USS Shangri-La as a photographer on the aircraft carrier during their Mediterranean tour. Following his discharge, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, then Charmin, and retired from Fort Howard Paper Company.
Gary was a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Parish. He was an avid card collector and liked spending his time golfing, bowling, playing cards, attending sporting events and concerts and occasional casino visits. Gary enjoyed a good meal at Krabbe’s Supper Club in Seymour and Perkins on Military.
Survivors include his son, Jacob; Jacob’s mother, Nancy Pamperin; his siblings, Sue (Larry) Reimer, Dave (Laurie) Pamperin, and Jeff (Barb) Pamperin; his godson, Andrew Pamperin; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Pamperin; stepmother, Luella Pamperin; and sister, Judy Johnson.
A private family Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
