Services Held For Selmer H. Haugen

Funeral services were held June 17th at St. Mark's Lutheran Church for Selmer H. Haugen, who passed away June 13, 1970. Rev. Lauren I. Egdahl officiated and Mrs. Kenneth Olson was soloist.

Mr. Haugen was born November 23, 1906, to Mr. and Mrs, Hans Haugen at Souris, N. D. He was raised on a farm near Souris and moved to Upham in 1930 where he was employed as Standard Oil agent for 22 1/2 years. He married Olive T. Benidiktson at Towner February 3, 1936. Upon retirement in 1952 the family spent six years in Stuart, Fla. and then moved to the San Diego, Calif. area in 1958.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Joann (Mrs. Hugh Barfield), Jacksonville Fla.; one son, Gordon, San Diego Calif.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Bennie and Melvin, Souris, N. D.; four sisters Selma (Mrs. Albert Robertson) Richland, Wn; Clara, (Mrs. Oscar Olson) Bottineau, N. D.; Sina (Mrs. Andreas Berg), Hawthorne, Calif.; Hannah (Mrs. Palmer Rustan) Minot, N. D.; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
